I've been shipping products for 25 years, and for most of them I've done the design and the front-end code myself. The patient app I designed at Enlyt has been in production since 2018 and runs under a dozen-plus health system brands. On smaller efforts I carry the whole product — the winery platform on my work page is sixteen wineries, one designer-developer, and a CMS the tasting rooms run themselves.

I lead by unblocking. When a designer is waiting on an API or an engineer is guessing at a spec, I sit down with them and close the gap the same day rather than let it ride to the next standup. Prototypes settle most arguments faster than documents, so I build a lot of them. I give clear direction and leave people room to solve things their own way.

My first move is a working version of the risky part — the flow nobody can picture, the integration nobody trusts yet. A prototype turns an abstract argument into a decision. When a problem is bigger than me, I frame it in plain terms and bring in the people who have seen it before. Most blockers turn out to be a missing conversation.
